- ¼ cup butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can chicken broth
- ½ cup water
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- 1 jar of Gina's Southern Style Gourmet Pumpkin Spread
- 1-cup heavy cream
Melt butter in 3-quart saucepan. Add onion and garlic; cover over medium heat until onions are softened (1 to 2 minutes). Add broth, water, salt and pepper; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low for 15 minutes. Stir in pumpkin spread and heavy cream. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Transfer mixture to food processor or 5-cup blender (in batches, if necessary). Cover; process until smooth. Return mixture to saucepan and serve warmed.
